Giverny is a place I had often envisioned during my romantic musings. To walk amidst it’s gardens, surrounded by a kaleidoscope of colors and history. Considering it was recently our two year anniversary, (and we were in need of a little getaway) it seemed the ideal escape. Forty-five minutes via train, into a world created by great Impressionist master, Claude Monet.
I could not help but to think of the lives lived amidst these grounds and within these walls.
Night fell. The last bus departed. We were not yet ready to leave this setting of many a masterpiece.
Paris could wait until morning.
I visited the gardens a few days ago as well. Definitely one of the most enchanting places I’ve seen 🙂

It was such a dream come true for me to get there…it is so beautiful. It’s like you are transported back in time! Perfect anniversary idea.
You hopeless romantic, you!
I would love to visit those gardens.
Gorgeous pics.
Hugs,
Dawn, you must take a trip to France!
Me, a romantic? 😉
I love Giverny! it’s amazing…great photos!
just looking at those pictures reminds me of how relaxing it is to get out there. nice….
And yet another reminder of why I need to go to Giverny. I always mean to! Thanks for the inspiration. Lovely!
Oh thank you for sharing – a must-visit!
I went way back when, as a college student. I think I’m due for another visit!
Lovely photos! I was there in April and loved it. Where did you spend the night and would you recommend it?
Thanks! We ended up staying in a lovely rustic B&B as almost everything was booked. The owner knew everyone in the village and was quite a host with many stories to tell. What I would recommend it to book ahead 🙂
I got a tiny taste of the area last October when I stayed one evening at Les jardins d’epicure. We definitely plan to go back and explore the area more, it is so lovely!
I was there last spring and I must say it was very difficult to go back to Paris that day!
