I first discovered Monterosso during my trip around the world over 3 years ago. It was a seredipitous encounter, completely unplanned. I fell in love immediately. It’s hard not to, being surrounded by so much natural beauty. Little did I know, it was a place I would come to call home.
These days, my Italian and I are settling into life in a village. Home on the Mediterranean. Spending time with family, making wedding arrangements and taking time to taste the oranges hanging in the trees and listen to the sounds of the church bells. It is these scenes that currently compose my life.
Paris feels very far away.
Do you think you guys would move there indefinitely? I would love to have just one weekend where you are!
No, but we will always consider it a home, and come back to visit often 🙂 You MUST experience Cinque Terre!
How charming 🙂
It looks so gorgeous!
Lovely…and how fun is wedding planning?! Enjoy!
It has been quite an adventure and I’m learning much about the Italian wedding traditions! And a little bit of Italian…
I’ll be there myself, a presto! I can’t wait. It’ll be a lovely 2-week photo (if not a bit hectic – the weather had better hold!) holiday, I hope (I’ve been once before, but that was ages ago). Genoa (home base for the trip) – Tellaro – Lerici – San Terenzo – Sarzana – Finalborgo – Celle Ligure – Pontremoli – Albisola – Varazze – Cogoleto – Sori – Pieve Ligure – Bogliasco – Nervi – Boccadasse – each of the Cinque Terre – Camogli – Portovenere – Portofino – Santa Margherita Ligure – Sestri Levante – Bonassola (for my namesake Focacceria di Marisa) – Campo Ligure. But I’d *much* rather be there for the purpose of “settling into life in a village.” That’s the life!
WOW! You have quite a trip planned! (I have yet to see many of these villages but did get to Bonassola on Sunday for the most delicious black truffle pizza at Pizzeria Guilia!) I’m sure the weather will remain gorgeous for you as it is now. Take lots of photos and enjoy the calm Mediterranean moments! Buon viaggio!
I’ve now added Noli and am persuaded to add Albenga, Alassio, Laigueglia, and Cervo per the sage suggestion of a couple of Trip Advisors. And also now, I will be on the lookout for the most delicious black truffle pizza at Guilia’s in Bonassola. Mille grazie! And I hope you continue to enjoy life and the planning of your wedding in Monterosso. All the best to you and congratulations!
Oh my!! How adorable this place is. It makes me smile just looking at it. I can’t even begin to imagine how tranquil it really must be! How long will you be there?
It always makes me smile. Not sure how long we will be here… feeling quite at home 🙂
swooooooooooooooooooooooon. :):)
Wow. That’s really all I can say.
No wonder Paris feels far away!
An amazing experience to be able to have feet in both worlds.
Andi, I feel truly privileged to call two such beautiful parts of the world my home.
Looks gorgeous! Hope to see you in Paris soon….
Too lovely for words!
Absolutely fantastic photos! Such a cute little place! I’d love to trade places with you. You can stay here in Toronto, and I’ll jet over there anytime! Hahaha…LOL.
I like Toronto but… 😉 Come to Italy!
These images are Beautiful Kasia! It’s clear how Paris can seem worlds when you’re somewhere so beautiful in so many different ways. Looks like you’re enjoying!
[…] beauty seems to originate. I have observed these white tipped mountain peaks many a time enroute to Monterosso. But it was just recently that I had a chance to explore them up […]
